Most people think of Tortola as a stopover – the place you land, grab a ferry/charter boat, and head off to the other islands in the BVI. But, we know better. Allerdings vom Hafen aus gesehen auf der anderen Seite der Insel. It’s only 3 sq miles in size, one of the smallest islands in the BVI, but the vibe is big thanks to Soggy Dollar Bar (where the Painkiller rum cocktail was born) on White Bay.

This is the most famous spot on the island, but we’ve also loved wandering down Great Harbour and pottering around the little shops and Foxy’s Bar down there. It looked so peaceful, the water was shallow and calm. Das Gebiet rund um den Gipfel ist heute Nationalpark. Der Pfad verläuft durch viel Grün und riesige Granitfelsen. Visit Tortola’s local art galleries

While we haven’t personally joined any art tours on Tortola, we do know Sophie, the founder of Creative Waves, which is a brilliant community-driven art space on the island. We’ve eaten lunch at Omar’s Dockside Nanny Cay, a BBQ dinner at Peg Legs, browsed the little shops and even done some dog walking around the marina.

10 bis 15 Minuten zu Fuß erreicht. Wer es individueller mag oder von den hohen Landausflugspreisen an Bord abgeschreckt wird, sollte sich die Angebote lokaler Veranstalter einmal ansehen.

Nanny Cay is Tortola’s main marina, which might not sound like a tourist attraction at first, but we’ve actually spent a few aida orient ausflüge erfahrungen lovely mornings here.

Mount Sage Nationalpark: Wandern mit Aussicht

Mit einer Höhe von 543 Metern ist der Sage Mountain im Sage Mountain National Park der höchste Punkt der Insel. It was fun, and slightly terrifying, but we quickly learned that booking a local island tour is a much more relaxing way to see the island if you’re here on vacation.
